When he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go into Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them. (Acts 16:10)
Looking at the marks of a Highly Contagious Christian, we come to:
# 3 Paul was Submissive to the Spirit
Paul, Silas and Timothy had been sensitive to the Spirits lead. Until now, they had been hearing not you and not yet. Finally, there was an open door and a sense of direction.
God often closes one door to open another. The time of waiting for direction can be painful and confusing. However, it should be a time of sharpening and focusing our lives and life-message so that we will be ready to share when the door opens.
Notice the word immediately in verse 10. There was no debate or hesitation. They believed that God had sent them outdo you? They believed that He had somewhere for them to godo you?
Do we really believe that God puts people in our paths for a reason? Do we understand that He is sending us into a world that needs Christ and we are His representatives? Are we expecting Him to open doors? Are we expecting Him to lead? Are we ready to respond quickly when He leads?
Not every one we meet is asking to hear the Good News of Christ
at least not on the surface. Many have hardened their hearts and built their defenses.
But, there are many like the Macedonian man in the vision. The Scripture says:
a man of Macedonia was standing and appealing to him saying, Come over and help us! (Acts 16:9)
Lets ask God to help us see into the hearts of people that come across our paths.
Lets ask God to help us hear the cries that are beneath the surface.
Then, lets immediately follow the Spirits leadto reach out to them in Jesus name!
